Almliebe & Ragaller: Trade and Craft Since 1906.

A Family Story

A hundred and twenty years of heart, craft, and commerce. Four generations and one family business, which the two of us, sisters Stefanie and Sonja Ragaller, have carried into a new age. An age defined by digitalisation, fast fashion, social media, and artificial intelligence. And precisely because of all that, an age in which timelessness and Tracht matter more than ever. Almliebe is our answer: a shop where tradition meets the present, craft meets commerce, and heritage meets what comes next. Online and in our Munich and Pocking stores from day one, with a large, carefully curated range of fine Tracht labels including Gottseidank, Alpenherz, Coco Vero, Meindl, Ostarrichi, Wenger, Hammerschmid, Madame Marie, and many more, alongside our own Almliebe collection, designed by the two of us and made in a small atelier in southern Germany. The instinct for creating and selling things that are useful and, above all, beautiful was practically in our cradle. It all began in 1906, when our great-grandfather Nikolaus Ragaller and his wife Maria opened a dairy shop in Pocking, Lower Bavaria, next to the saddlery where he made and mended horse harness for the farmers nearby. From those modest beginnings grew a wide-ranging family business that evolved across the decades, from a village general store to a fashion house, and finally into the Almliebe world we have built since 2012.

Crises, wartime, and upheaval have always called for new directions and the courage to change. In the 1970s, as the grocery trade consolidated around them, our grandmother Lina Ragaller and our parents Klaus and Eva Ragaller made a clear, decisive move into textiles, and later into Tracht. With a sharp sense for quality and for the mood of the times, they and their son Claus grew the business into the region's leading fashion house, more than 2,000 square metres of it, until international giants like H&M and Zara arrived and turned retail on its head with fast fashion.

Once again it called for fresh thinking and a focus on what truly mattered: specialisation, a premium position, a real in-store experience, and lasting customer relationships. Night after night, we sat at the family table sketching and debating new ideas. On one of those nights, Almliebe was born, a modern reading of this long history. The idea was simple: to give Tracht a fresh, young interpretation, bring it into the present, and carry it into the future. Alongside other young labels like Gottseidank, Julia Trentini, Lena Hoschek, and Liebling, we dusted off the world of Tracht and made it exciting again for a young, urban audience.

And yet we have stayed true to tradition and to our roots, with our flagship store in the heart of Munich's old town. With our own Almliebe collection, made largely in southern Germany, the circle comes full back to the craft workshop of our great-grandfather Nikolaus. Here's to the next 120 years.
